This past Tuesday, October 18, 2022, the Boys Tennis team won their final game of the season, 5-0. The seniors were celebrated with posters and balloons. Pavan Varakantham, a junior on the team, explains that the majority of seniors play on Varsity. Typically only one to two seniors are on JV.

Varsity Boys Tennis finished out their season with a conference record of 7 wins and 0 losses and an overall record of 11 wins and 2 losses.

In an interview with Addison Flora and David Gunderson, Gunderson says his favorite part of his high school tennis career has been “serving aces”.

“My favorite part of tennis,” states Flora, “is being with teammates. […] Being with the team, especially doubles. In singles you’re all by yourself but doubles you have someone there, someone to talk to, someone to get excited with, it’s fun.”

Flora and Gunderson are the doubles 1 for Varsity tennis, and when asked how players end up playing in a double or single match, Gunderson responded, “the coaches are good at recommending based on your play style what you should be playing.”

Boys Tennis finishes strong thanks to the help of their coaches and the chemistry between players.
