Aloha Acai Cafe is a name that most haven’t heard before. Naturally, one would assume that’s because it’s nothing special. But in reality, Aloha is worthy of being the number one location that acai enjoyers gatekeep.
Aloha Acai Cafe opened in West Olympia on February 6th, replacing a donut shop that went out of business during COVID-19. Offering a wide variety of fruits and sorbets, there are seemingly endless combinations, but each one is a win. Stephanie Adams, a first-time visitor, opted for the classic bowl. “I happen to like fruit a lot, and I try to eat plant-based, so it is my kind of place.” Adams said.
It’s hard not to appreciate the presentation of this cafe. The location has a clean and refreshing atmosphere, perfect with the freshness of the food they offer. “It was small and intimate in a way, but also felt very relaxed and casual at the same time,” Adams said. With soft blue walls, greenery, and music in the background, the building gives a very tropical feel, which matches the name appropriately.
A concern that may arise when trying cleaner varieties of food is cost. But for this type of plant-based cuisine, the pricing is to be expected. “The price is actually very reasonable because anytime you go to a specialty type diet or place offering a special kind of food like that, it’s going to be more expensive,” Adams said. So, although it’s a little pricey, the price range of $12-25 makes sense.
The most important factor in determining the quality of a restaurant is the taste of the food, and the food is great, no need to complicate it. “I love the whole menu and I really want to go back,” Adams said. Once more, emphasis on the freshness. The building is a breath of fresh air from all the overprocessed and commercialized fast food alternatives.
Despite the quality this cafe has to offer, it’s not the most popular. “I had not heard of or gone to that location before,” Adams said. And considering how well it does in every aspect of the word ‘review’, Aloha definitely deserves more attention. So, the evidence speaks for itself, visiting Aloha is worth it in every sense of the word.
