The bears pack the Dome in white-out for the second basketball game in the state tournament

OHS boys basketball is ready to take home a title at the Dome this week.

Yesterday, the Bears beat Gonzaga Prep 51-47. Now they’re guaranteed at least 4th place in the tournament.  But after the nail-biter yesterday, they are likely to take the state title. They play tonight at 5:30 at the Dome.

The biggest student section the Dome has ever seen showed up for the boys Thursday afternoon to watch them beat Gonzaga Prep. The whiteout spanned 15 rows, packing the bleachers in support. OHS won the best student section award at the state last year and is likely to win the title again.

The boys had a successful state-run last year, finishing third overall. The last time the boys’ basketball team won a state championship was in 1986.

Sophomore Blake Peterson remarks “It’s going to be a good opportunity [the team] to improve from how we did last year.”

150 free tickets for the Friday night game are available in the athletic office. Find Bob Kickner at lunch to see if tickets are still available.

Pack the Dome and show support for our 2023 boys basketball team as they continue their streak of success. BE THERE BEARS!
