Prom theme

The theme of the prom is “Promma Mia,” inspired by the movie-musical “Mamma Mia,” including lots of disco balls, flowers and pink, blue and white colors.

“The decorations are all inspired by 'Mamma Mia'…we have cute little table center pieces and a photo backdrop. We should have a large disco ball throwing shimmer everywhere,” said ASB teacher Desi Saylors.

Tailoring a prom suit from scratch

After 40 hours of hard work, senior Ed Neff is pleased with the final result of his self-sewn suit.

Despite this, Neff wouldn’t recommend others to do this due to the specified skill set required and the time it takes to sew a suit. “I've been sewing for about 5 years now, so it kind of just [shows] how far I've gone with my technical skills.”

Contrasts in getting ready

Usually, girls take longer to get ready for big events like prom, while guys normally put off getting ready until the last minute, which stresses a lot of girls out.

Senior suggestions for prom dinner

Seniors share their plans and suggestions for prom dinner. With different restaurants located downtown, each has its own unique vibe and setting. Foods like Italian, Japanese and seafood are all recommended for a perfect prom night.

Although the black dress is prettier, it is also more expensive, so going with the blue dress which is also beautiful, would be the better option financially. (Alysson Hernandez)

Prom is a big milestone in a person’s life, and people think that it’s necessary to spend a lot of money when there are many ways to attend prom without breaking the bank.
