The Olympus

Poem of the week: golden hour

Warm rays of sunlight glaze over the kitchen countertops.

It reflects into my eyes and comforts my soul.

The playful sun peeks at me behind the trees,

bright as the radiant face of Moses.

I open the window eagerly, like a good book begging to be read

and breathe.

Deeply.

Slowly.

Feeling the tender breeze tickle my face

and rest on my collarbone.

My fingers curl over the hand of Apollo,

and he gently squeezes back.

I never let go.
