OHS boys varsity soccer had a historic game against last year’s state champions, Bellarmine Prep. The game ended in an impressive, nerve-wracking penalty kick shootout!  The bears scored first and kept their 1-0 lead throughout the first half. Bellarmine clapped back and the game ended in a 1-1 tie followed by a PK shootout. The first round of penalty kicks ended in a tie but an impressive save from the goalie, Mason Austin, and a goal scored by a senior, Kolby Martin, ultimately gave Olympia the win. Jake Murphy, a freshman, remarked on this victory against Bellarmine as, “the first time in 23 years”.  The Bears are making history this season and have a current record of 5 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie. Come out and support our teams as they defy odds and break records.
